Context
The climate information services engages and involves youth in climate smart agriculture/farming activities that raise awareness on climate change, adaptation and mitigation measures to improve their creativity in activities involving regenerative agriculture/conservation agriculture by using DAT (Disruptive Agricultural Technologies) and TIMPs (Technologies, Innovations and Management Practices) that are key in addressing the effects of Climate change thus improving productivity and nutritional security in order to end hunger and poverty across different parts of the world.
Mission
Our mission is to educate and sensitize youth on Climate change, adaptation and mitigation measures/activities that align with Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) to enhance their creativity, problem solving skills and critical thinking towards sustainable agriculture, improving food production and address nutrition security towards ending hunger and poverty.
Vision
Our vision is to see young people around the globe make a difference by using new and improved agricultural technologies (Disruptive Agricultural Technologies – DAT & Technologies, Innovativeness and Management Practices – TIMPs) to help farmers improve food productivity, profitability and nutrition security for our people.
Objectives
- To raise awareness on climate change, adaptation and mitigation measures among youth.
- To build youth capacity on recent and improved DAT (Disruptive Agricultural Technologies) and TIMPs (Technologies, Innovations and Management Practices) that address climate change through hands-on projects, activities, consortia and mentoring programs.
- To build youth skills and knowledge set that triggers creativity, innovativeness, and critical thinking about the effects of climate change in agriculture.
- To mentor youth in the field of agriculture technology (Disruptive Agricultural Technologies - DAT and Technologies, Innovations and Management Practices - TIMPs) that are related to the fields of agriculture.
- To reduce rural poverty by creating more employment opportunities for youth by empowering them to providing advisory and extension services through digital connectivity and information dissemination to farming Communities.
Goals
- To encourage youth agripreneurship through capacity building and mentoring programs.
- To reduce unemployment rates in local communities through socio-economic empowerment and development. SDG 8
